Most families invest between $450 and $1,500 for their senior portrait experience, depending on how many images they'd like to own and how they plan to enjoy them after the session.
Seniors deserve an experience in a private indoor and outdoor studio that gives them the professionalism and variety they deserve. That is why we created our Portrait Park. See The Imagery difference.
Choosing a senior photographer is about more than finding beautiful images. You also want an experience that feels comfortable, gives you plenty of variety, and reflects who your senior really is.
Here are a few of the questions families ask us most often.
Most sessions begin right here at The Imagery in Burnsville, where we have both a private outdoor Portrait Park and a professional indoor studio.
That gives us a huge variety of looks without spending your session driving from place to place.
If your senior has a meaningful location in mind—a sports field, lake, downtown area, dance studio, family property or another favorite place—we can incorporate that too.
Minnesota weather can be unpredictable.
Because we have both indoor and outdoor photography options, we're rarely dependent on a single location or type of weather. We can adjust the session as needed and still create a wide variety of portraits.
A lot.
Our Portrait Park includes natural areas, stonework, gardens, water features, rustic settings, architectural elements and other backgrounds just steps away from our indoor studio.
That means your senior can move from casual to dressy, natural to dramatic, outdoor to studio—and still have plenty of time for outfit changes and creativity.
That is completely normal.
Most high school seniors aren't professional models and don't automatically know what to do with their hands, how to stand or how to pose.
They don't need to.
Our job is to guide them through the entire experience so they can relax, feel confident and look like themselves.
Yes.
Our outdoor photography area is on private property, which means you're not competing with crowds, weddings, festivals or several other photographers working in the same space.
Seniors also have convenient access to the studio for outfit changes, hair adjustments and breaks.
Senior sessions are photographed by Rod Oman, The Imagery's lead photographer, who has spent nearly three decades photographing Minnesota seniors and families.
The experience is highly guided—from posing and lighting to choosing backgrounds that work with your senior's clothing, interests and personality.
Absolutely.
Musical instruments, sports equipment, dance, pets, cars, artwork, collections and other interests can all help make a senior session more personal.
We encourage families to tell us what makes their senior uniquely them.
Absolutely. If you're deciding whether The Imagery is the right fit, we'd be happy to show you around.
You can see the indoor studio, walk through the Portrait Park, ask questions and get a better idea of what your senior session could look like.
Choosing your senior photographer is an important decision, and we're happy to help.
